This is The Candy Show’s 4th nomination for the hard work and dedication by Candy Palmater own creation. Other nominations include: 2013 Canadian Screen Award nod, 2012 Canadian Screen Award nod, 2013 ECMA (East Coast Music Award) nod, and now 2014 APCMA nod – and maybe a win. Wow, what a Season we just filmed in Halifax. The Candy Show Season 5 was a blast, and filled with high energy guests and jammed packed audiences of all walks of like, of all ages and ethnicity. The Candy Show is about love and kindness, and the hilarity of Candy Palmater along with some of Canada’s top Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal musicians and performers. Season 5 is currently in Post Production, the dates are not set for airing yet, but be sure to subscribe to the website to not miss the Season 5 premiering date.
Immediately after filming The Candy Show, the very next day, Candy Palmater has been filming and getting ready for the Massive televised event of the year on APTN (Aboriginal Peoples Television Network), June 21st – National Aboriginal Day. Halifax hosts the big outdoor stage on the waterfront. The event is hosted by Candy Palmater and her Co-Host Don Kelly. One June 21st in Toronto, the Book Launch of 10X10 will be during pride week. Candy is one of the featured Gay celebrities that will be in the 4th annual book. Just wrapping up the final day/ night of filming in Halifax Saturday May 3rd. For the past 2 weeks filming this National Variety Television series, The Candy Show Season 5 has been extremely exciting, highly entertaining and very emotional. The Candy Show showcases some of the BEST Canadian Music, Canadian Performers and of course Comedy Diva Candy Palmater. Season 5 of The Candy Show airing dates are not released from the network yet. Post-Production will take place immediately after tonight’s show.

We are well on our way to week two of filming the hit National variety TV series, The Candy Show, in Halifax. The nights are all SOLD out and we are only accepting waiting list requests at this point, to be in the studio audience. The incredible line up of guests plus the funniest woman comedian we have right now in the country, Candy Palmater, together make great TV. The Season filming now will air early 2015 some time. Today is day 3 of filming on the awesome TV show The Candy Show Season 5. The first 2 days/ night of filming have been a blast! We had the worlds only Ojibwe Elvis, we had duo pole performing artists, East Coast music talents by: Christine Campbell, Erin Costelo, My Living Will, Red-Suga, Hubert Francis and Halifax circus performer Brandon Gold. This is just the first 2 nights and our jammed packed audiences are wanting more tickets to other nights!It is not too late to get your tickets to more exciting nights coming up. Funny female Aboriginal ( Mi’Kmaq) comedian Candy Palmater has every one in stitches, not just with her well written monologues (written 100% by Candy Palmater solely), but the “in-betweens” keeping the audience active in between shooting, laughing so hard until you are sore. Many awesome Television series are filmed in Halifax every year. But most are closed sets, not open for the public to partake and understandably so. The Candy Show is a National Television series that does not go by the standard rules. In fact, filming a large portion of the hit National TV series is done in front of a live studio audience. This variety TV show is just that, a Variety TV show. Hosted by Creator/ Writer/ Comedian Candy Palmater each episode begins with Comedy monologue plus a Music Guest and a Performing Artist.
The day time filming is a closed set, however, in the evening we open the doors to those who are 19+ and invite you into the house. Door time is 6:10 – 6:50 pm so you MUST be in the door to the studio during this time to ensure you get a spot in the audience. FOR TICKETS CLICK HERE. We film 2 episodes each night except for Wednesday April 30th where we film only one. 13 episodes, 26 guests, 7 nights of taping. Ticket price is ONE non-perishable food item for Feed NS bins that are on site. Bring the food with you please.
There is a bar and merchandise on site, so bring cash. During the break , we feed our audience some sandwiches – free.
1. National TV filming and you get to be a part of it for FREE ( as long as you are 19+ ), and you can see yourself on TV when the episode airs, if you happen to be seated in the right place.
2. BEST Canadian Performers, Musicians, Comedy all under one roof – and it is the best price ever – we ask for each ticket holder to bring ONE non-perishable food item for the food bins for FEED NS on site. In return you will receive the BEST in entertainment for the evening/ night while we film in HD for TV.
3. The other awesome fact: We are not STUFFY on set. We want you, the AUDIENCE, to have fun so come prepared to dance, laugh hard, scream when asked and dressed in your craziest, best, or come however you like, just no birthday suits please, the network will not like that. We want you to relax and be with Candy Palmater as she makes you feel warm, welcome and invited into her House to play, and enjoy yourselves. Dance, Laugh, Meet new people.
