Fall 2017 – Candy schedule

Happy early fall everyone.

Summer had been a wonderful, crazy busy time for Candy. In case you missed some of the action of new projects and upcoming projects here is a little recap:

  1. Candy signed a Book deal with Harper-Collins Canada – Candy is hard at work writing in her down time when not traveling for events/ gigs. Book is set to release Spring 2019.
  2. Candy is working on another APTN  series where she is Narrating 13 episodes  – titled Skindigenous.  Watch for the NEW TV series coming soon.
  3. PODCAST: Yes, Candy’s own podcast is in the works right now.  Set to launch winter 2017.  More details will come, so stay tuned to the website and subscribe to not miss out on the launch.

FALL 2017

The schedule is jammed packed with Candy traveling from one coast to the other this fall.  UNBC next week then to NFLD next month, with many other provinces in between.  Candy will be speaking with Peter Mansbridge on September 29th at Mount Allison University – Mansbridge Summit. Candy Palmater is your 2015 Host for the Read Carpet extravaganza event in Winnipeg, at the Indigenous Music Awards, televised LIVE on APTN. The big night is Friday September 11th, 2015, and Candy’s National award winning Television series, The Candy Show, is nominated for BEST TV SERIES this year.  Candy will also be a presenter for one of the awards during the night as well.

Be sure to tune in and watch your favorite artists get interviewed by  Candy on the red carpet!

Ultimate Host and gay and Native and funny comedian Candy Palmater

Hello friends,

Wow, what a Season we just filmed in Halifax.  The Candy Show Season 5 was a blast, and filled with high energy guests and jammed packed audiences of all walks of like, of all ages and ethnicity. The Candy Show is about love and kindness, and the hilarity of Candy Palmater along with some of Canada’s top Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal musicians and performers.  Season 5 is currently in Post Production, the dates are not set for airing yet, but be sure to subscribe to the website to not miss the Season 5 premiering date.

Immediately after filming The Candy Show, the very next day, Candy Palmater has been filming and getting ready for the Massive televised event of the year on APTN (Aboriginal Peoples Television Network), June 21st – National Aboriginal Day. Halifax hosts the big outdoor stage on the waterfront.  The event is hosted by Candy Palmater and her Co-Host Don Kelly.  Join her for some fun, some Primo entertainment, tons of music  – View the official Website here for more information.   The Event is FREE BTW, so be there Halifax.  The event is live to National TV, for many of you who cannot be there in person, on APTN.

Candy is also on the road for speaking gigs, comedy gigs and more. See her schedule page to see where she is… she might be in your province or country!

One June 21st in Toronto, the Book Launch of 10X10 will be during pride week. Candy is one of the featured Gay celebrities that will be in the 4th annual book.  Be sure to head over to the event if you are there.  ( Candy may or may not be there – we do not know if she can make it yet).  But the book will be for sale.

6-8:00pm: Cultural Showcase, Vendors & Silent Auction!

Our Cultural Showcase features an internationally renowned group of Mi’kmaq singers, Eastern Eagle, as our host drum group. We also have All Nations Drum Group, dancers from all powwow styles and a Hoop Dance Exhibition. The Silent Auction will include Artwork, Fancy Shawl and Jingle dresses, hand drums, earrings, and anything else people would like to donate to help the benefit raise funds. All vendors are welcome and can contact me to reserve a table!

To start, we have one super funny Mi’kmaq.. who was recently voted as Halifax’s Best Comedian, nominated by the ECMA’s, and host of “The Candy Show”, Candy Palmater, as our nights event host!! The Fashion Show will showcase HeadRush, The Vault and InkStarz Native designs by “Natasha Patles” and “Dwayne Ward”- which will include both female and male Mi’kmaq models. We then have special guest, “Ryan McMahon”, a very hilarious Ojibway Comedian, who’s flying in from Winnipeg to do Stand-Up Comedy for us! Our stacked music line-up includes Listiguj’s very own “Melissa Girven” and “Gmanwolf Productions”, “Kicking Krotch”, and two Aboriginal Hiphop Music groups who were recently nominated by the East Coast Music Awards for Aboriginal Recording Of The Year, “City Natives” and “Black & Grey” to perform for us LIVE!!!
