June 9th-14th many writing project deadlines – she will be based back in Toronto for these projects – two for books, one of her very own…. watch for the press release with the details, plus she is a NEW columnist for Chatelaine and there is more….
June 15th to 22nd – on the road and air to the West Coast, North Coast and East Coast of Canada.
June 23 – July…. early July we are taking a much over due vacation/ break and will be out of commission for a couple weeks.
PODCAST time... when we come back from our break, Candy will back on the airwaves my friends. Not right away as we will be busy taping the episodes and meeting with our Producer , so on. BUT rest assured, you will have Candy to listen to very soon, and not seasonal. You will be able to listen to her all year round!!!! HOW EXCITING!!! First piece of news I want to share is that Candy Palmater has made the tiny shortlist of hopefuls for the permanent HOST seat for Q on CBC Radio one. On Tuesday January 27th, 2015 a brand new episode of Season 5 of The Candy Show, national variety award winning Television series in Canada. The Candy Show showcases the best in Canadian Music, entertainment and art and comedy. This Saturday August 9th, Candy will be hosting the annual DDOS (Dog Days of Summer). The Halifax downtown business Commission puts on a fun time in parade square for families, and pointed towards many who have dogs. There is even a doggy fashion show you can enter your pooch into. Candy is currently away performing Comedy at Moose Factory First Nation, Ontario. She will be home on Friday for plenty of time to rest up for the big event on Saturday.

Tons of exciting events coming up this month and the next few months. She will be performing comedy for the Mi’Kmaq summer games, then off to Ontario for speaking engagements, and then hosting APCMA award night, and presenting on another. The Candy Show is also nominated for an Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Award for her work in promoting and showcasing Aboriginal music on her hit National TV series. Saturday July 26th is the infamous annual Halifax pride parade. Thousands of people will come out to watch, participate, show their alliance and unity that really, one love is human nature, and this day marks this fact. Halifax pride parade is the 4th largest in Canada. That is awesome considering we are a tiny province and our person per province tally is lower than most. Candy , a proud 2 spirited woman, has united for a special campaign with BBBS Halifax (Big Brothers Big Sisters). She is the face of the their campaign and will be on the big float, helping to gather clothing donations from the parade goers to help the kids that are in desperate need of help. Other nominations include: 2013 Canadian Screen Award nod, 2012 Canadian Screen Award nod, 2013 ECMA (East Coast Music Award) nod, and now 2014 APCMA nod – and maybe a win. Wow, what a Season we just filmed in Halifax. The Candy Show Season 5 was a blast, and filled with high energy guests and jammed packed audiences of all walks of like, of all ages and ethnicity. The Candy Show is about love and kindness, and the hilarity of Candy Palmater along with some of Canada’s top Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal musicians and performers. Season 5 is currently in Post Production, the dates are not set for airing yet, but be sure to subscribe to the website to not miss the Season 5 premiering date.
Immediately after filming The Candy Show, the very next day, Candy Palmater has been filming and getting ready for the Massive televised event of the year on APTN (Aboriginal Peoples Television Network), June 21st – National Aboriginal Day. Halifax hosts the big outdoor stage on the waterfront. The event is hosted by Candy Palmater and her Co-Host Don Kelly.
