We are currently working a few massive projects for Candy and once we have the go ahead to release the information, you will receive it here, first. Hope your summer is safe, fun, and everything you want it to be so far. We are gearing up to move to Toronto in two weeks from today, and we are in full swing of packing, working and Candy is flying to Toronto to perform Comedy at the PAN AM GAMES, how exciting. When she returns to Halifax, we will then drive to Ontario, Candy, me and our three little puppies. We plan to vlog the entire affair, so be sure to tune into our Youtube channel: TheCandyShow (link for our Youtube channel is above this post), so you can catch all the travels as we drive across 4 provinces in Canada.

Dog Days of Summer in Halifax

This Saturday August 9th, Candy will be hosting the annual DDOS (Dog Days of Summer). The Halifax downtown business Commission puts on a fun time in parade square for families, and pointed towards many who have dogs. There is even a doggy fashion show you can enter your pooch into. EVENT DETAILS: 12 noon – 1:30PM Bring the entire family and especially your puppy dog(s) to this event. Lot’s of activity, things to do and some free stuff too. Candy is currently away performing Comedy at Moose Factory First Nation, Ontario. She will be home on Friday for plenty of time to rest up for the big event on Saturday.

For many fans of Candy Palmater, many of you know Candy for her Comedy, her National Television Show THE CANDY SHOW, and for her acting and professional speaking. Did you know she also has a YouTube Channel? Yes, it is TheCandyShow Channel. Everything from beauty videos, to Book Reviews, Vlogging and also a few rants may sneak in there. She will be performing comedy for the Mi’Kmaq summer games, then off to Ontario for speaking engagements, and then hosting APCMA award night, and presenting on another. The Candy Show is also nominated for an Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Award for her work in promoting and showcasing Aboriginal music on her hit National TV series. Candy travels the country visiting schools, first nation communities and events speaking on many topics, but the one that hits her the hardest is anti-bullying and suicide. As a Gay, Native, woman she understands the struggles. Candy shares her stories with the young people and how she still has her struggles today, but she remains triumphant. Candy has achieved much success in life by following her dreams, by allowing those who support her to be around her, true friends, family and positive supporters. It is not easy, heck, life is not suppose to be easy, life is about making choices that you want, not what others want for you, or try to make you do. This is your life to live, have fun, dream big, and surround yourself with other people with similar wants and goals. Life is wonderful, don;t leave the world early. Live. Watch Video

To quote one of my favorite lines in one of my favorite movies, Storm of the Century ( book/ story written by Stephen King), the line is “Pushers get pushed Donnie Beals, Pushers get pushed”, is a line I use often. Donnie Beals is the son of the small town’s mayor, and little Donnie, like his father, likes to bully and control those around him. You will have to read the book or watch the movie for this moment, as the entire story is not about the Beals, but something more grand, that involves the town’s people. Which in turn makes even the top town bullies cower…..

I wanted to blog today, as Candy is Hosting/ speaking at a 3 day Aboriginal Youth Conference in Ontario, called ” Dream Walkers gathering” which is a motivational event for Aboriginal youth to stay in school, put on by the Niagara Peninsula Aboriginal area Management Board. The problem of youth suicide is astounding, we all have a big part to play in helping to put an end to the bullies that push the victims to death. I feel this is murder, but call it what it is, this epidemic must stop.

Its Just Another Mani Monday

Good Monday everyone.

I am getting packed to fly to Ontario today. I have a week long gig and I wanted to have something fun and dazzling on my nails for my travels. This look is Revlon Moon Candy in Galactic. After I applied lacquer, it did not look how I envisioned it would be until I applied the Top Coat. Then it worked out well. Without a top coat this polish is rough and looks like an old manicure on the nails. Top Coat is a must to make this polish look good.
